The Commission undertakes and supports research work across the range of equality grounds to facilitate evidence based policy formulation and the work of the Commission in general.

In general terms the equality statutes provide that the Commission may undertake research on its own or assist others to do so (financially or otherwise) where such research appears to the Commission to be necessary or expedient for the purposes of meeting the duties of the legislation.
