Statutory duty investigations
Public authorities are required to put Equality Schemes in place to ensure compliance with the Section 75 duties of the Northern Ireland Act 1998. The Commission can investigate complaints that public authorities have failed to comply with their Equality Scheme from persons who are directly affected by such failure, and can also initiate such investigations itself. The Commission has developed a Section 75 Investigations Procedure.
