Pressing for Reform
The Equality Commission has a duty to keep the equality legislation under review and advise government on ways it could be improved. The Commission is calling for reform in order to address key inequalities, harmonise and simplify the legislation, strengthen the equality rights of people in Northern Ireland and ensure where appropriate, that equality law here keeps pace with legislative changes that have already taken place in Great Britain or are due to be implemented.
